Happy (Belated) Father's Day!

The day got away from me yesterday, and I didn't get a chance to post a Happy Father's Day post. Ryan continues to be the most amazing partner and dad...he gets very very very special kudos for the past several weeks. He has been amazing through the birth of Miss Adelyn making sure Abel and I still feel special...not to mention while finishing and defending his dissertation AND planning our move! So sweet Ryan/Daddy -- you are the best!

FORK!

A couple of weeks ago, Abel started experimenting with a fork. It didn't go so well when he first started trying, but he's become a real pro. At this point, he won't eat anything unless it's on a fork. Some things are difficult to spear. When that happens, he goes for the two-handed jab. It's quite entertaining!

Mimi & Bobby Visit

My parents came up this week to meet Adelyn and spend time with the rest of us. It's been great to see them interacting with the kids. Adelyn loves the cuddling, and Abel is extremely grateful for anyone willing to play with "Tabo Ha" (Mr. Potato Head). These are just a couple of our favorite pictures.

Where are the ducks? THERE are the ducks!

One of Abel's favorite things to do is go for a walk. When he walks with Bonnie (his babysitter), she takes him down by the water to see the boats and the ducks. After all of the rain Wisconsin has had lately, there haven't been many ducks or boats on the water. During our walk the other day, Abel was very excited to see the ducks. When they weren't in their usual spot, he was very concerned (see photo #1); however, when we finally spotted them, he was beyond excited (see photo #2). Don't you wish we all had his curiosity and enthusiasm?

Family Walk

The other day, we decided to take our first family walk. The double stroller is awesome (Thanks, Mimi and Bobby)! Adelyn was lulled to sleep by the motion, and Abel LOVED his up-front view. Wrigley was ecstatic to be included, and Court moved extremely well after just having had baby #2. We can't wait to get to Indy so we can take these walks on the Monon.

Soooo Relaxed

Just like her brother when he was an infant, Adelyn dislikes having her arms swaddled. Instead, she lounges with her hands behind her head when she sleeps. So cute!

"Hold Baby!"

Abel has spent a lot of time over the last week watching us hold Adelyn. Today, he had his chance. Now his favorite phrase is, "Hold Baby!" Doesn't he look like such a big boy compared to his little sister?

Pretty in Pink

They're just so sweet!

Lots of Lovin' for Mama and Daddy

We just love it that Abel is so gentle and loving with Adelyn. There's nothing better than snuggling and cuddling with both of them!

Show Day at The Little Gym

Abel's last gymnastics class was this past Tuesday. "Show Day" is always fun because the kids get to show off what they've learned, and each one of them gets a medal. Abel walked and did a forward roll on the beam, hung from the bars before completing a perfect pullover, and explored all of the other fun equipment. It was sad to leave Ms. Cindy, but we know she's given Abel a wonderful start on which we can build when we get to Indy.

Sidewalk Chalk

Abel and Grandma Peggy found the bucket of sidewalk chalk in the closet. They've had lots of fun, and the results have been quite enjoyable. They even got Grandpa Dave to lay down to have his body traced. Now THAT'S art!

Hangin' With Peggy & Dave

Abel and Adelyn are enjoying some time with Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Dave. Peggy came up earlier this week to help out as Courtney neared delivery, and Dave arrived after Adelyn was born. Not only are the grandkids enjoying their time with Peggy and Dave, Courtney and I are appreciative of the delicious meals and the perfectly mowed yard. Thanks, Peggy and Dave!
