Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Happy Father's Day Ryan! Ryan's is an amazing dad and partner...here are the top 5 reasons why:

1) During the first months while I was pumping, Ryan woke up for every single feeding to help feed Abel while I pumped.

2) As soon as Abel was born, he was running back and forth in the room trying to be equally attentive to us both.

3) If I say I need a break or I'm going to go work out, he says no problem and takes over for the time being.

4) He loves us more than anything and it shows every single day.

5) He's so hands-on, I think it's made me enjoy motherhood that much more and makes the possiblity of another one not completely overwhelm me!

We're off to the mall....one of Ryan's favorite places EVER!

First Bike ride!

Abel went on his first bike ride this week. He fell asleep (of course) but I cannot even describe to you how cute he was being pulled behind Ryan's bike. His helmet is a bit big and he wasn't a big fan of it, so we just went for a short ride...Before he fell asleep, he played in the back with his toys...but seemed to be way more interested in the strap holding him in!

Laundry help!

Abel decided to help me with the laundry this weekend. We separated together. I keep telling him how lucky he's going to be when he turns 10 and he can start helping with certain chores. I don't know why I chose 10, I just did! We were thinking that perhaps maybe if we talked about how LUCKY he would be, then we maybe wouldn't have to put up with a fight!

The Terrace

This past weekend, my mom and dad came for a visit. It was a gorgeous weekend and perfect to go out to the Terrace at the Union on campus. The terrace sits right on Lake Mendota, there's music, food, and tons of people. It's very popular for its colorful chairs and there is a huge one to climb on or take photos...They were giving away either a free ball or frisbee...so we got the ball for Abel and he loved it. He ended up playing with it all afternoon! He also enjoyed sitting in on another game of Euchre....this time, he wanted to eat the cards...actually, he wants to eat everything! Unfortunately, he's not yet old enough for Babcock Hall ice cream, but someday! There were too many photos to choose from, so enjoy...he's developing QUITE the personality!

A visit from old friends

We had friends from New York come out to visit over Memorial Day weekend. They were in Milwaukee for a family Bar Mitzvah and took a trip over to us to visit, meet Abel, and see the campus. It was a beautiful day, REALLY fun to catch up with them, and great to have friends from New York meet Abel. Danny, the youngest one in the pictures, was a student of both Ryan and me. He's going to be in 9th grade next year. Wow! The picture of him holding Abel is awesome...and so weird at the same time! Who would have ever thought that 3 years later, he'd be holding our new son???
